Our Writer’s Relief BASIC Web Design Package includes:
Installation of a WordPress-powered website: If you can use Word, you can use WordPress!
Easily update content on your web pages or blog posts (if you choose to add a blog to your basic package).
Domain name registration: We’ll take care of all the technical details of setting up the URL (link) for your website. We’ll register the domain in your name and complete the Domain Name Server (DNS) configuration. The cost of initial domain registration IS included in your price quote. Annual domain name renewal fees will apply if you continue hosting your site with us next year (the cost is minimal, often under $20 per year depending on the competition for your domain). We do not hold your domain name hostage by registering it under our name (as is the case with some other design firms). You own it. We make sure that you are the master of your domain!
Personalized development questionnaire: We’ll lead you quickly and easily through a process that helps us get to know your preferences. We take a very personal approach to web design! We will customize the fonts, colors, and mood of your website.
Top-of-page design elements: We’ll make sure your name is included in the masthead/design of your site in a simple or stylized font. We offer two or three options for an accent image based on your preferences. You choose the one you like best.
Traditional layout. The basic default page layout of your site includes a main text area and/or a default sidebar.
Five pages: We will format and upload your text for up to five pages (excludes uploads of full books or novellas). You will choose which pages you want to include (Home, About, Excerpts, etc.). Add on proofreading for additional confidence! We are here to guide you.
Images: We will upload up to two of your photos (for example, a head shot on your About Me page or a book cover image on a related page).
Publishing industry guidance: There are specific do’s and don’t’s when it comes to the kinds of things you want to say, publish, and post on your writer website. We have the experience needed to advise you to make the best decisions. There are many web designers available, but few have expertise in what’s best for an author’s online presence. We go the extra mile to help you put your best foot forward.
Support: One hour post-design revision support PLUS one hour post-content upload revision support. Email support only for revision requests.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Google naturally loves WordPress websites. So you’re already in decent shape. But you can choose to add an SEO upgrade that will make it even easier for search engines to index your site. We can include site map integration and additional meta and search engine optimization tools for greater SEO visibility.
Tutorials: We’ll provide you with basic WordPress tutorials which will enable you to make changes to your content (or if you don’t have the time, you can ask Writer’s Relief to manage changes for you at our regular hourly rate). We will also share content and marketing advice, as well as tips to make your website stand out!
